Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Cofoundr is a platform that helps founders find co-founders and investors. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the platform, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We've written this in plain language because we think you deserve to understand exactly what's happening with your data.
What information we collect
We collect information in two ways: what you give us directly, and what's created automatically when you use the platform.
Information you provide:
- Your email address — used to create and identify your account
- Your name, headline, bio, and location — shown on your public profile
- Your skills, sector interests, and role preferences (co-founder or investor)
- Investor-specific details if you choose to share them: check size range and investor type
- Your LinkedIn URL, if you add one to your profile
- Profile photos and startup images you upload
- Startup listings you post: title, description, stage, sector, and contact preferences
- Messages you send to other users through the platform
Information collected automatically:
- Basic usage data (e.g. which pages you visit) collected by our hosting infrastructure
- Authentication session tokens — these are what keep you logged in
We don't use advertising trackers, analytics SDKs like Google Analytics, or any third-party tracking pixels on the platform.
Why we collect it
Everything we collect has a specific purpose:
- Your email and password are used to authenticate you and keep your account secure
- Your profile information is shown to other users so they can decide if you're a good match
- Startup listings are shown to people browsing the platform looking for opportunities
- Messages are stored so you can have ongoing conversations with other users
- Uploaded images are displayed on listings and profiles to make them more informative
We don't use your data for advertising. We don't build profiles about you for any purpose beyond running the platform.
Where your data is stored
Cofoundr uses Supabase (supabase.com) as its database, authentication, and file storage provider. Your data — including account details, messages, and uploaded files — is stored on Supabase's infrastructure, which is hosted on AWS in the EU region. Supabase's privacy practices are documented at supabase.com/privacy.
The platform itself is hosted on Vercel (vercel.com). Vercel may retain server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) for a short period for infrastructure purposes.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any third parties for commercial purposes.
Your public profile and startup listings are visible to all logged-in Cofoundr users — that's the point of the platform. Messages are private and only visible to the sender and recipient.
The only third parties who have access to your data are Supabase and Vercel, solely in order to operate the platform (see above).
Your rights and how to exercise them
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information on your profile (you can do this directly from /profile/setup)
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Ask us what data we hold about you
To request account or data deletion, or for any other privacy question, email us at lucien.riviere@cofoundr.app. We'll respond within 30 days and delete your data promptly.
Cookies and sessions
Cofoundr uses cookies solely to maintain your login session. We don't use cookies for advertising or tracking. If you clear your cookies, you'll be logged out.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email.
